Sales Coordinator/Social Media Champion

As a sales coordinator, my main focus is to support the sales and catering managers. I also am the front desk receptionist for the sales and catering offices, so there is a heavy administrative role involved as well. The Hilton College Station keeps three sales coordinators on full time, so we work as a team to accomplish many of our tasks. My position is heavily catering centered, therefore I handle a lot of banquets and meetings. I also have recently been given the reigns on all of our Social Media (see links below), where I work alongside the Director of Sales and Marketing. We currently operate a Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest page.

Requirements

Before working in the sales and catering office, I worked at the front desk for six months. This helped me learn the specifications of the hotel, and also showed the company my dedication before moving me up to a job that requires more skill. I also was able to transition into sales smoother because of my experience with the Hilton reservations system. The main requirement is the ability to work with people, and the desire to make guests feel as welcome and comfortable as possible.

Benefits

If you love to travel for {relatively} cheap, consider working at a Hilton brand hotel. With our Team Member Travel Program, employees receive massive discounts on select dates at Hilton brands. These include Hilton, Hilton Grand Vacations, Conrads, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, Home2, Curio, Canopy, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, and Tru hotels. The discounts are often times more than 70% per night. There are also the other benefits, such as a friendly work environment, a 401k plan, GED and ESL classes, insurance, and employee discounts at our restaurant and coffee shop.

Achievements

While working at the Hilton, I have learned in large part by doing. I have been given the opportunity to take events and run with them, manage groups, and take charge of our social media. In December, I was responsible for a Christmas party with over 800 2nd graders in attendance. That was an opportunity that I never would have expected in my first few months. I am also humbled to have won employee of the month this March [yay!]. Because of this position, my organizational skills have gone through the roof, and I am now proficient in scheduling and reserving software.

Blue Energy

The Hilton is a proud and active member of the Bryan/College Station community, and we LOVE giving back. From bake sales to habitat for humanity, our Blue Energy team is on it. Blue Energy is a Hilton principle that incorporates community, associate relations, guest relations, and sustainability. These are all of our responsibilities, and we all participate and hold each other to a high standard.
